When Rebecca and Ben asked us to photograph their wedding at Burgh Island, we did a quick google search as we hadn’t yet photographed a wedding there before, which is pretty much true of most wedding venues we photograph at. Little did we know though that this beautiful art-deco hotel based in South Devon, would become one of our favourite wedding venues. At high tide, the only way to reach the hotel is by boat or on the legendary ‘Sea Tractor’, as you’ll see in the photos below. The intrigue and beauty of the place has always drawn people looking for something different. It is no surprise that Agatha Christie and Noel Coward made Burgh Island their second home.
Despite the undeniable beauty of this place, for us, it’s always people that make weddings. It’s all about capturing moments and memories, that’s what we love about what we do, that’s what gets us excited, and humble at the same time to be in a position to be a part of such an important day in people’s lives.
There were just eighteen guests at Rebecca and Ben’s wedding – it was a beautiful, intimate celebration of the loveliest of couples, and friends and family. Thanks so much guys for having us document your day! We couldn’t have wished for lovelier, kinder, and more welcoming hosts :)
Here are some of our favourites from the day.
