Katherine + Mark. Pamflete House, South Devon.

2015/08/23

Katherine and Mark had a humanist ceremony on the beautiful Flete Estete at Pamflete House in South Devon, back in June of this year, and it was the most perfect day! When we received this email from Katherine, well, we just knew we wanted to be a part of their wedding day – being excited about it, is just a bit of an understatement :)

“Mark and I are having a house party style ‘wedding’, we are keeping it very informal with a humanistic wedding ceremony under a traditional open marquee on the front lawn with paella for lunch and a pig roast for dinner. No formal dining or speeches. We are moments from the beach where we would like to spend some of the day with friends. And lastly Mark is a musician and therefore we have many musician friends who shall be helping us create our own atmosphere.”

Katherine and Mark’s wedding was everything, and more, that they described to us. It was the most wonderful, informal, chilled-out day spent with family and friends. They lucked out with that beautiful sunshine all day, and we just couldn’t stop grinning all day long.

It was the first time we’d photographed a wedding with a no-particulr schedule. The only thing that was set was the time of their humanist ceremony. The rest was so relaxed, free of stuffy formalities, a pure joy to document. Paella for lunch, pig roast for dinner, a walk down the beach, and friends jamming in the evening. There were speeches, and Katherine’s dad, easily wins the award for one of the best father of the bride speeches. He rapped his speech :) Yeap, he rapped the entire speech, had everyone in stitches and could easily give P Diddy a run for his money. Brilliant day from beginning to end! So excited to be going back to Pamflete House next year :)

Here are some of our favourite wedding photos from their day… :) Or you might be interested in seeing some more Pamflete House wedding photos from another wedding we’ve recently photographed at this venue.
