We absolutely loved photographing Fran and Gran’t wedding at Anran Barn in Ashburton, Devon – what a unique wedding venue, a hidden gem in beautiful Devon! It was our first time as wedding photographers at Anran, and we are over the moon to say that we will be going back there next year, so excited!
It was the prefect venue for Fran and Gran’t awesome day with their nearest and dearest – what a fun bunch of friends they have!! There are many superlatives I can use to describe this day, venue and the lovely Fran and Grant. Yes, I think you are getting the message… ;) it is the type of wedding we love to photograph – super relaxed! Apart from a handful of group photos (yes we do a few, but rarely blog them), and free to shoot how we see, without any shot lists, or massive time constraints, it was a pleasure to be a part of their day.
The morning preparations were relaxing. In the beautifully understated decor of Anran House I took some photos of Fran getting ready, all completely natural, whilst Keith headed to St Matthew Church (three minute walk up the road) with Grant and the boys. After the ceremony Fran and Grant exited to a mountain of confetti, which are one of my favourite things to photograph – they make for lovely, fun shots. After, we all walked back to Anran for cocktails and canapés in The Courtyard. Before dinner we used the beautiful surroundings behind the house for some shots with Fran and Grant. Just the two of them having a walk and enjoying some time away from their guests, taking it all in. After, incredibly funny and emotional speeches followed in The Glass House. The evening entertainment was provided by Brass Junkies, who were amazing!!
All in all, a fabulous day – an epitome of a relaxed, loving celebration with friends and family. Right, onto the photos – a very small selection from the 800 or so Fran and Grant received. Feel free to comment and share.
