Charley and Ross’s wedding at Reed Hall in Exeter, Devon was a true pleasure to photograph. It was my first time as Reed Hall wedding photographer, and Keith and I agree this wedding venue in Exeter is rather unique. The Grade II listed building is nestled in 300 acres of botanical gardens – so needless to say we were spoilt for choice with photo opportunities. Of course, having an amazing setting helps, but weddings are all about people, and what we strive to capture is the rawness, emotion and honesty of the day.
Charlie and Ross are such a cool couple to work with, and they truly appreciate photography, especially as Ross is an amazing cinematographer, so no pressure there on our part ;) We met the day before the wedding, talked though their plans, instantly got on, and we bonded over our mutual love of movies – yes, we agreed, ‘Shawshank Redemption’ is the best movie ever made! The rest is history, and the photos below are a snippet of their awesome wedding at Reed Hall and St David’s Church in Exeter.
Amazing to receive this lovely message from Charley and Ross after viewing their photos.
“Just to say how thrilled we are with the photos! We knew they would be good but these are just beautiful… Love how watching it in the slideshow mode tells the whole story before we meet by jumping between the two of us getting ready! Just great. We sat down in front of our new log burner with our new kitten ‘Neo’ and a glass of wine to watch them and it brought back all the shared joy from the day. Also so glad to have got the awesome group shots – we don’t think either of our families have ever had group photos like this taken before which is really special for them, and us. And we’re especially pleased with the wonderful nature shots, the wide bench and tall trees in particular are simply stunning, all so perfect, and just what we could have wished for. Cannot wait to choose some to have printed to be the first things to go up in our freshly painted house!”
Thanks guys for having us, wishing you miles of smiles for the future! :)
I hope you enjoy looking through these wedding photos, and if you are considering Reed Hall as your wedding venue (or any other venue of course), please don’t hesitate to contact me to discuss your wedding photography requirements.
